Senior Quality Calibration Technician (1st Shift)

The Senior Calibration Technician is responsible for leading, scheduling, and conducting a variety of activities that involve the comparison of measurement devices of unknown accuracy to a measurement device of known accuracy in order to detect, correlate, and report any variations in the accuracy of the device being compared. This position is part of the Pall Aerospace Quality Assurance department and reports to the Quality Control Inspection Supervisor. The role will be located onsite in New Port Richey, FL. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM but flexible scheduling due to business needs as well as overtime are routine. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Coordinate all work in the Calibration Department. This includes managing outside vendors, monthly calibration lists, calibration in place items, writing purchase orders, building gage kits to support the machine shop, and leading plant-wide audits for calibration compliance. Expertly use Calibration equipment, understand requirements, and perform calibrations on machinist hand tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Pin Gages, Thread Plugs, Thread Rings, and Height Gages) and manufacturing equipment to ISO-9000, ANSI Z540-1, and QS-9000 requirements. Maintain Value Stream daily management boards for output of calibration audits. Electronic data entry for calibration certifications, and review of certification records for completeness and accuracy. Maintain calibration laboratory to meet 5S requirements and support ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
The essential requirements of the job include: High School diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED) and five (5) years of quality control, manufacturing or metrology experience in an Aerospace, Military, or Machining Manufacturing ISO9001/AS9100 environment. Experience and knowledge of Calibration Requirements for Ovens (AMS-2750, ASTM E-29), Measuring Equipment, and other manufacturing equipment such as pressure and flow gages. Experience interpreting complex engineering part drawings and blueprint reading. Able to work overtime and flexible hours to meet deliverable deadlines.
Physical/Environment Requirements: Successfully pass the Ishiharas Test for Color Deficiency, and Jaeger Level 1 eye examinations per PACS-PQ-0029. Must have a minimum of a 20/25 vision (with correction). Keen and clear eyesight. Able to see fine print and blueprint details. View computer monitors for extended periods of time. Bending, lifting, sitting, standing and twisting for long periods of time. Required to lift a minimum of 35 pounds. Lifting requirement: Daily. Good hand dexterity. Must be able to work with solvents, oils, and other chemicals as required.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Associates degree in a technical related field preferred Gage Trak calibration software Familiar with or knowledgeable of ISO 17025 requirements.
