Carter Specialty Hospital, affiliates of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Neurologist to provide high-quality Neurology services. This is a unique opportunity to support patients in both skilled nursing and long-term acute care settings, while contributing to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and academic medicine. About Us: Henry J. Carter Specialty Hospital & Skilled Nursing Facility is a nationally recognized facility with a 164-bed CMS 5-Star-Rated Skilled Nursing Facility and a 201-bed Long-Term Acute-Care Hospital (LTACH). Carter is known for its pulmonary excellence, ventilator-weaning expertise, and comprehensive long-term care. Carter provides patients with a continuum of exceptional care, in warm and supportive environments. Responsibilities: As a Per Diem Neurologist at Henry J. Carter, you will: Provide in-person neurological consultations for patients in both LTACH and skilled nursing settings. Evaluate and manage a wide range of neurological conditions including stroke, seizure disorders, encephalopathy, neuropathies, and neurodegenerative diseases. Collaborate with hospitalists, pulmonologists, psychiatrists, rehabilitation teams, and nursing staff to deliver coordinated care. Offer recommendations for diagnostic work-up and treatment plans tailored to medically complex patients. Document all clinical encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record. Participate in interdisciplinary care discussions as needed.
Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology Active New York State medical license Experience in LTACH, skilled nursing, or inpatient neurology preferred Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care
